Jason Gilmore

Jason Gilmore is a filmmaker, producer, novelist and photographer. He normally writes dramas and dramedies — interspersed with social commentary — about people torn between who they’ve been and who they are becoming.

His short films have aired nationally on CBS, FOX, ABC & NBC, numerous film festivals and have been taught at several universities. He also directed and edited all 16 episodes of the faith-based web series, Ladies Small Group. In late 2017, he produced, wrote and directed the short Since We've Been Apart, starring Sujata Day (Insecure). He has pitched projects to many production companies and studios, including ESPN Films, MGM, JuVee Productions and Franklin Entertainment.

Jason is also the author of an acclaimed novel, Somewhere Between Here and There. His essay, “Everything I Want to Tell Black Folks in Person About Biden and Harris,” was a featured Medium piece in September 2020. His screenplays have been finalist, semi or quarterfinalists in multiple contests including Sundance Screenwriters Lab, the Universal Writers Program, and the Tracking Board Launch Pad Feature Script Competition. Also, his work has been featured in Deadline, The Chicago Tribune, Dime Magazine, Shadow and Act, Voyage LA and the Toledo Blade

The Toledo, Ohio native and University of Pittsburgh grad has many feature scripts and pilots in various stages of development. He lives in Los Angeles with his wife and two daughters.
